Anna Mundet Molas is a practice-based & critical writing researcher and interdisciplinary artist based in Barcelona. She holds a BA in Audiovisual Communication and Media Studies from Pompeu Fabra University, and she has an academic background in Philosophy and Digital Humanities.

In 2020, she was awarded a fellowship to do an exchange stay at the Department of Radio, Film, and Television at the University of Texas, where she specialized in artistic research and new media. The summer of 2022, she received a scholarship to participate in the Pelion Summer Lab for Cultural Theory and Experimental Humanities at the University of Thessaly organized in conjunction with the Wenner-Gren Foundation and the Experimental Humanities Collaborative Network (EHCN).

She is a co-founder of the film production company Malniu Films, with which she has developed five pieces (short films and videoclips) that have been shown in festivals such as FECILI (Festival de Cine Libre), the Filmy Monks Film Festival, Gallo Pedro Inclusive Short Film Festival, Hospitalet Short Films Festival, Subtravelling International Short Film Fest, or REC Festival Tarragona, among others.

My work stands at the intersection between artistic research and film, and I use new media tools and experimental and hybrid forms to produce most of my pieces. I also like to use storytelling, curatorial practices, speculative fiction, and community-based participation mechanisms in the production of my films.

My current focus of research is on cultural memory and its relation to climate change and posthumanism. I am particularly interested in the politics and poetics of archiving and the mechanisms of (re)appropriation of images through digital technologies.
